The Battle of Chelsea Creek, which took place on May 27-28, 1775, was the first naval engagement of the American Revolution and the first victory for the colonists. The battle involved the capture and destruction of the British armed schooner Diana, and the colonists’ goal was to disrupt British supplies and strengthen the siege of Boston.
